2. Denver Adventure

So, last Friday, the gang decided to go down to Denver to catch a basketball match (Rockets vs Nuggets). It was a last minute thing - I think they only talked about it and finalized the day before.

We wanted to rent a car down to Denver since we had 6 people, and Allan was over 26. It was a pretty good deal, only around 20 Dollars per person for a whole week's rent. But it proved to be too good a deal to be true. On the morning of Friday, we realized we needed to get a liability insurance, which wasn't covered nor provided by the rental company. So we had to buy it ourselves. Fine. But throughout the day, Peter asked for quotations from several insurance companies and they all quoted a crazy amount of money - 300 to 400 Dollars. We struggled in front of the computer for quite some time - until around 6pm. At this point we decided to just take a cab down, but Sheryl said that it would be impossible to find a cab at this time - we needed to make reservations 2 weeks in advance.

After calling countless cab companies, I finally got one that was willing to send us. He said that he'll arrive here at 8pm. I was ecstatic, so was everybody else. But we didn't want to get our hopes up in case of another mishap.

At 8pm, the cab driver still wasn't here. I called and he said he needed another 15 minutes. 15 minutes later, he said he'll be here at 8:30pm. We waited. At 9pm, he finally called to say he's arrived. We rushed out, but we couldn't see anyone. I called him again to get his location. We went back and forth like this for what felt like forever. By then we were pretty sure that he was in Estes Park, not Snow Mountain Ranch. And we were right.

I felt so bad. It was like I brought everyone into this mess. But luckily everyone was very positive and did not give up. (This was already 9.30pm so we knew we were going to miss the game, as well as the guest list at Beta Club.) We managed to find an Uber - Andriage to bring us down in the end. He seemed a bit weird. We were almost certain that he smoked weed, haha. But he was very nice - he didn't plan to go down to Denver but he did it anyway. It was cheaper than everybody else too - only 80 plus Dollars. Whoot!

We arrived at Denver around 11.30pm. So we had less than 30 minutes to walk to the liquor shop to get some whiskey and beer. It was fun.

We spent all night drinking and playing games. I was super tired. So drinking on top of being tired totally ruins my system. I get so tipsy and tired and high just after a few drinks. Haha. But it was really nice. Drinking made it so much easier for us to bond.

I really appreciate the fact that we can all unite, be positive and solve problems together. Just within one week of knowing each other, we were able to bond so well because of this trip. Awesome.

Really love you guys sooo much!
